Our August 2021 release covers all things content. It includes some major tool and feature upgrades to help you create engaging digital experiences that capture attention and drive participation. We've even included a few bonus features for good measure.

At the 2021 HiVE Community Conference, we announced our plans to add more ways to style your Facts, Feature Grids and Quote tools. These improvements are finally ready and you can now create a range of new eye-catching styles by adjusting the colour, size and layout properties of these tools.
Additionally, you can add icons from our comprehensive icon library to your Facts cards and Feature Grids to give them that extra wow factor. We can't wait to see the creative ways our customers use these new options.
Choose from several new layout options in the Feature Grid tool.
They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, but a video is worth 1.8 million. As part of our ongoing goal to make forms and surveys more interactive and engaging, you now have the ability to embed video content in the Form tool.
Add
videos to your forms and surveys directly from YouTube or Vimeo by
adding a 'Video' or
'Content Screen' element in the Form editor. Be sure to use the 'Share'
link for your video content (e.g. https://youtu.be/zqkhKu-pxnEe) rather
than the page URL.
You spoke, and we listened - a feature you have been eagerly awaiting is here. You now can incorporate images and buttons into your email campaigns. Create visual interest and emphasise your 'call to action' text to link pages or document downloads.
New options in the toolbar of the campaign editor enable you to add images from the File Manager or directly from the web. You can also style text to appear as an action button by highlighting the text, clicking the link icon and setting the 'Link Style' to 'Button'.
We've added even more options for setting your content with four new page templates.
The Left Sidebar template is available to everyone and provides a two-column layout, including a secondary content area on the left-hand side. It's similar to the popular Right Sidebar template, but the content displayed in the left column will position itself on top of the main content area in mobile view rather than below.
Premium customers will also get three additional templates: Right Sidebar Feature, Left Sidebar Feature and Story. These templates provide advanced layout options, opening a variety of new possibilities for displaying your content.
With alternating narrow and wide content
areas to layer text with media, the new Story template helps you create professional-looking pages that tell compelling
digital narratives.
These templates won't immediately be available to everyone on release day and it will take us a couple of months to roll them out. If you'd like access sooner rather than later, please let your customer success manager know.
If you're currently using the Year of Birth attribute in your signup form instead of the standard Age question, you can now visualise results in the People and Activity reports (within the Overview section).
Year of birth is the best way to collect age data as it doesn't fall out of date over time (as categorical age data does). If you'd like to transition to this question on your site, please contact your customer success manager.
Breathe easy and find your pages with precision using our new page search option. We understand the headache of having dozens or even hundreds of engagements, and the difficulty in keeping track of all the subpages associated with your projects.
You now have the ability to search all pages including your subpages from the Sitemap. Just type a keyword into the search box and you'll return all page names containing that keyword (this feature was previously available but restricted).
We've made some changes to how we communicate with you via email. You can now set your preferences for the types of information you receive from us. Click the 'Manage preferences' link in the footer of any email we send you to adjust the types of content you'd like to receive. Of course, if you don't want to receive anything you can also unsubscribe entirely.
We've also made some updates to the Learning Centre to make it easy to see our latest announcements. You can now see a section containing product updates, upcoming community and training events and more. We're planning some great new features and community events, so stay tuned.

Community engagement is an ongoing process of collaboration and co-learning. When we evaluate our community engagement initiatives, we give ourselves the opportunity to measure our deeper impact and make improvements for future projects.
With the right action plan in place, we can ensure we are connecting with our community on an appropriate level to enhance public decision-making.
