📖 Community Training: September 2025 - Mastering Conflict Resolution 📖

We are delighted to announce our next community Training session for 2025. Bringing you expert Social Pinpoint training for all your users, this initiative lets you send your users along to monthly, online training sessions to learn everything from the platform fundamentals to advanced thought leadership in digital engagement directly from our experts.

Each session is designed with you, community engagement professionals, to address a specific topic of interest, to ensure you're gaining valuable and focused insights.

Training is open and exclusive to Premium and Enterprise customers and is free of charge.


Conflict is inevitable in civic engagement, but how it’s managed can determine the success or failure of a project. In this session, we’ll explore evidence-based conflict resolution strategies, practical de-escalation techniques, and digital tools that help navigate challenging discussions in online and in-person engagement settings. Learn how to turn conflict into constructive dialogue and build stronger community relationships:

  • Understanding the psychology of conflict – Explore key insights into emotional triggers, cognitive biases, and how people process disagreements in engagement settings.
  • Proactive strategies for preventing conflict – Learn how to design engagement processes that minimise friction, address potential issues early, and build trust before tensions arise.
  • De-escalation techniques for public consultations – Discover practical methods for diffusing hostility, managing difficult participants, and responding to aggression with confidence.
  • Facilitating productive online discussions – Learn best practices for moderating online forums, handling misinformation, and keeping digital conversations respectful and on track.
  • Managing stakeholder tensions – Gain tools for balancing competing interests, aligning expectations, and fostering cooperation between community groups and government bodies.
  • Using data to address concerns – Explore how engagement analytics can help identify emerging issues, track sentiment shifts, and provide evidence-backed responses to community concerns.

Online engagement can get complicated, especially when it involves coordinating lots of people in your organisation. Training new staff on your engagement platform can feel like a full-time job in its own right.

To alleviate some of this pressure, this training program aims to support our customer's internal teams to learn Social Pinpoint. This program allows you to learn new skills and build on their community and stakeholder consultation expertise to improve their outcomes!

The program aims to make it easier for administrators to manage the growing complexity and demand for digital engagement while still providing consistent, high-quality training directly from our product specialists.

Since June 2021, we've hosted regular monthly training sessions on Social Pinpoint, opening the doors to everyone in your organisation. That's right; there are no limits to how many sessions you can attend or even how many users you can send along (subject to session limits).

Each year from February to November (10 online sessions per year), our monthly sessions provide multi-disciplinary training across a broad range of topics and digital applications so your teams can learn the front and back-end of the platform, while expanding their expertise with best practice and thought leadership. Session times will vary each month to account for users in different time zones.

The best part is that the training is free for all Premium and Enterprise subscribers*.

If you're not yet a Premium Subscriber, discuss with your CSM about purchasing a Season Pass separately from your subscription or attend individual sessions at a per session rate.
